This later became home to the D.C. Highway Department. My dad worked in Materials on the third floor. I spent part of the Watergate hearing summer watching people enter and leave the Federal Courthouse across the street and learned a lot about legality and politics. We also watched Inauguration Day parades from this building. One time someone in the next office opened a window and the sniper on the art gallery roof came to attention pretty quickly! Good memories.
