Can You Identify This Spot from This 1916 Washington, DC Photo?

Any idea where this might be? I’m going to guess that we won’t figure it out given the inability to make out the house numbers. Nevertheless, if you’re up for a challenge this weekend, see if you can identify this spot.

Washington, D.C., 1916. "Post Office Department mail wagon." With a slogan we can all get behind. Harris & Ewing Collection glass negative.

  1. This may be the intersection of A St NE and North Carolina Ave NE facing south. Most of the details match up. (1. the brick pattern, 2) the angled house above the mail truck's engine, 3) If you look on Baist's atlas from 1913-15 A Street NE was paved in brick. The only detail that does not match is the railing on the top of the corner house. Its possible that this was moved from the house next door over the last 100 years or so.
