This cool old article from The Washington Post was published on November 3rd, 1889. At the time, Grover Cleveland lived north of the city in a lovely old estate called Oak Hill. Eventually, the neighborhood that grew up around his home was named for him: “Cleveland Park”.

Interesting post, rich in promise and billowing the real estate industry would embrace to this day. I realize that streets are sometimes renamed, but once lots are sold off the development pattern generally persists.
So the puzzle for me is finding nothing like this street configuration anywhere along Woodley Road NW. Whatever became of this offering?
