Hello Tom … I really enjoy your site since I was a native Washingtonian for the first 55 years of my life. After I retired from the feds I moved away but your site brings back wonderful memories of my life. I’m writing you today about the Blaine Mansion at Dupont Circle. My memory of that building dates back to the late 50’s, early 60’s when my mother took me there to get my eyes examined since the eye doctor we went to had his office in that building. Cant remember the dr.’s name but he had this huge roll top desk full of individual lenses and this gadget he put on your head where he put the individual lenses to build your glasses. It was so cool.
