These are old maps of Washington in 1874. They're amazingly detailed and are a "manual for business men."

We came across this incredible collection of old D.C. real estate plats showing small sections of Washington way back in 1874. We’re sharing them here in a single post so you can indulge yourself (and waste a fair bit of your morning) studying them. Not a lot of commentary from us at the moment because, well, the kids are demanding attention (no longer Ghost babies — there are three!).

Take a look at the great maps, add your comments on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. I’m sure there’s a lot to discuss! Oh, don’t miss the fact that these are part of a real estate directory and “a manual for business men.”
