Here’s a cool retro ad from the 1950s. It’s an advertisement for Eastern Airlines with 37 daily flights to Washington, D.C. I’m assuming this is from New York.

  1. Is that a DC-4? And the ad must be from New York — that phone number name, Murray Hill, is a famous exchange that was used in NYC.

  2. Could have been, Eastern’s twin engined aircraft fleet was a mix of Douglas DC-4s and Martin 404s. My oldest brother was a ramp agent for Eastern at National on taxi orders. He would take me with him on weekends to ride along in both of these aircraft when he had to reposition them from gate to gate. What a thrill for a kid of 7. As soon as I finish my time machine, we’ll do it again…….
