This is a great old ad from The Evening Star on December 13th, 1902. It shows a bunch of homes on Kalorama Rd., in what we now call Adams Morgan, then called Washington Heights.

do you know who the architect of the houses was?
I love all these old real estate ads from when the was a lot of building in NW. Sometimes they are even nice enough to give the address so someone can see their house in the newspaper. For example the property advertised by Blundon, O’Brien, & Belt at 1742 and 1762 T St. NW (that are still there).

It really is a time waster/killer …..
Found a photo of 2 houses on Varnum between 16th and 17th http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045433/1921-10-02/ed-1/seq-18/
And then had to see if they were still around….. and think they are 1655 and 1649.
