Chevy Chase 1913 Real Estate Advertisement

We love digging up old ads from the papers like this one showing some great old real estate in Chevy Chase. You could get a great home in upper northwest back then for $6,500. Using the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that’s the equivalent of about $156,000 today. Not bad, considering these are easily million dollar homes today.

The advertisement says to get off at Connecticut and Jennifer so I looked on Google streetview and there are a number of houses that look like this on Jennifer on the west side of Connecticut. I don’t know if they are the ones featured but they look like the same plan and front.
