The Cairo is one of the gems of D.C. and is an amazing building to see if you haven’t had the chance to visit it. Below is a cool ad we found for the building in 1906.

    If the description off of the DC property database is to be believed, the building was built in 1895. Odd that a ten year old building required extensive renovation, perhaps Mr Catto is exaggerating a bit, perhaps there was a fire….

    Any ideas what was done with the ballroom and other large common rooms – building is now a condo.
