What a terrific scene, the likes of which most of us don’t understand. August 14th, 1945 was Victory of Japan day and the final end of World War II. This photo captures the excitement and jubilation of people in front of the White House, in Lafayette Square.
If you remember several months ago, we posted a couple images from the opening of World War II, when news of Pearl Harbor hit the White House. And, another post about the other regular happenings of the day.
