Nazi Flag Flies Over German Embassy in 1937

Wow, this is an amazing (and horrifying) photo that we found on Pinterest. The flag is at half-mast half-staff on top of the German Embassy here in D.C., in honor of the Hindenburg, which went down on May 7th, 1937 in New Jersey.

The old German embassy was at 1435-41 Massachusetts Ave., and you can read a good post about it by Kent Boese on Greater Greater Washington.
